Our company started in 1946 when my grandfather, Ryozo Okuyama, founded “Okuyama Boring Industry”. At that time, he undertook various jobs such as not only digging wells, also repairing farm equipment and water pipes.

When he was repairing locomotive water supply pipes, he had an opportunity to get to know some engineers who had engaged in geological surveys and the engineers of Railway Technical Research Institution. He was received helpful and technical advises by them and decided to start new business that leads to various surveys and technological development nowadays.

Until today receiving guidance and support from many people including university professors and business partners, we currently focus on the surveys and designing related to slope disaster prevention and conducting the countermeasure works to conserve national land and ensure safety of citizens.

In recent years, under extreme weather caused by global warming and climate change, disasters occur frequently such as landslip and debris flow due to typhoons, torrential rains, and large-scale earthquakes in various areas.

In order to prevent such disasters and contribute to conserve the national land and ensure the safety of lives of citizens, it’s indispensable to further improve our technology and enhance our agility, and it’s also important to train human resources that will lead the next generation.

It is hard to achieve this objective in a short-term, but we are going to steadily proceed step by step from a long-term perspective.

We aim to create new corporate value that adopts people’s needs in the changing times. And all employees will work together to fulfill our duties under our corporate message "conserve nature for the future" and we would like to hand over it to the next generation.
